- 2 slices bread
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1-1/2 pounds bulk sausage
- 1 cup cooked grits
- 4 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
Butter the bread on both sides. Place on bottom of a 13x9x2-inch pan.
Brown and drain the sausage and put it on top of the bread. Pour the grits over this. Sprinkle the cheese on top. Beat the eggs, milk, and salt together and pour over the ingredients in the pan. Refrigerate overngiht. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
Makes 6-8 servings.
