Phần lớn người hâm mộ Harry Potter chẳng được đến nhà hát West End tại Anh để xem tận mắt vở kịch gây xôn xao dư luận. Hầu hết chúng ta chỉ có thể ngồi đọc Harry Potter and the Cursed Child và hình dung ra mọi thứ trong đầu. Lần này trí tưởng tượng của bạn sẽ được dịp phát huy tác dụng khi mọi chi tiết đều được mô tả rất sơ lược. Gần như không có gì, ngoại trừ một vài biểu hiện cảm xúc hay hành động từ nhân vật gói gọn trong đôi ba chữ. Về các nhân vật không xuất hiện

Có lẽ, chúng ta đã quá quen với dàn nhân vật đầy ắp của bộ truyện và dù sao thì gần 20 năm cũng đã trôi qua rồi. - Ai cũng rõ vai trò quan trọng của Neville, vở kịch này càng khẳng định chắc nịch điều đó. Thế nhưng Neville đâu? Anh chỉ xuất hiện gián tiếp qua lời giáo sư McGonagall và đi uống với Ron vài ly theo lời Ron kể.

- Đại gia đình Weasley dường như đã thống nhất là sẽ không hiện diện bất kể họ được yêu mến đến độ nào. Không chỉ ông bà Weasley, mà các cặp đôi Bill - Fleur, Charlie, Percy hay cả George đều không được nhắc đến. Cuộc sống của họ phải chăng quá êm đềm nên không nhất thiết phải đề cập?

- Số phận hẩm hiu tương tự đối với Teddy Lupin. Là con trai của hai vị phù thủy và pháp sư tài giỏi nhưng Teddy thật sự đã bị lãng quên?

 

Scorpius Malfoy

Có hàng ngàn câu hỏi về Scorpius - đích tôn của dòng dõi Malfoy, con của Draco và Astoria sau khi đọc Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Không có gì nhiều để nói về Astoria khi mà cô hầu như không có mặt ở các tập truyện trước. Song bên cạnh ngoại hình giống cha như lột, Scorpius ắt hẳn kế thừa nhiều nét giống người mẹ của mình: sự nhân hậu, ham đọc sách và một khiếu hài hước đáng ngạc nhiên. Hogwarts - Một lịch sử

Thông thường, cứ cuốn sách nào được nhắc tên thì rất dễ nó sẽ sớm thôi bước ra đời thực hệt như ma thuật. Có ai để ý là trong vở kịch này cái tựa sách Hogwarts, A History bị nhai đi nhai lại và liên quan hơi bị nhiều. Nó cũng là một trong các cuốn sách được Hermione yêu chuộng nhất. Rowling đã từng viết về lịch sử pháp thuật Bắc Mỹ rồi, nên không lý gì một ngày đẹp trời bà không công bố Hogwarts - Một lịch sử. Câu hỏi chỉ là bao giờ? 

Xoay Thời Gian

Draco đã nhắc đến Croaker khi nói chuyện cha anh muốn sở hữu một chiếc Xoay Thời Gian. Croaker - tên đầy đủ là Saul Croaker - nhân viên lâu đời của Sở Cơ Mật thuộc Bộ Pháp Thuật, đồng thời là tác giả của thuyết "5 giờ đồng hồ là thời gian tối đa mà một người có thể trở lại quá khứ mà không gây tổn hại gì nghiêm trọng cho thời gian hoặc bản thân". Harry từng nói Draco có thể bị tống vào ngục vì tàng trữ Xoay Thời Gian. Draco cũng "nhấn mạnh" cha anh muốn có nó cho bộ sưu tập Ma Thuật Hắc Ám dù không bao giờ dùng. Hiệu trưởng McGonagall thì rủa xả Hermione thậm tệ vì giữ nó không cẩn thận Một dụng cụ ma thuật nguy hiểm như vậy nhưng tại sao Hermione đã từng được cho phép sử dụng nhiều lần ngay trong trường học? Không lẽ cả giáo sư Dumbledore và McGonagall không lường hết nguy cơ món đồ sẽ bị đánh cắp, lọt vào tay thế lực xấu và gây ra các hậu quả nặng nề?

 

Con gái Voldemort

Ban đầu khi mới đọc Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, làn sóng phẫn nộ nổi lên rần rần vì cho rằng sự mọc ra nhân vật Delphi quá khiên cưỡng. Dần dần, có vẻ mọi người đều nhận thấy hình như Jo đã chừa sẵn một khoảng trống để dọn đường cho Delphi. Soi lại các phần trước đó ta nhận ra hàng loạt các dữ kiện đáng nghi: sự vắng mặt của Bellatrix trong đêm phục kích thầy Dumbledore, lời bóng gió về việc sẵn sàng dâng con cho Chúa Tể Hắc Ám, sự dung thứ những lỗi lầm Bellatrix một cách khó hiểu khi trước đó Voldemort không mảy may xúc động một giây lúc các bề tôi tận tụy như Severus Snape và Peter Pettigrew chết...Thậm chí, Mrs Weasley đã từng hét lên với Bella "Không phải con gái ta, con điếm" cũng được coi là một tín hiệu rõ mồm một ám chỉ bóng gió mối quan hệ bất chính giữa Bellatrix và Voldy. Một lần nữa, fan tự hỏi liệu Rowling đã dự trù về việc sẽ có một phần 8 ngay từ khi viết ra tập 7?

Cặp đôi Rose - Scorpius

Nếu bạn đã từng mong chờ bộ ba sẽ cùng nhau phiêu lưu thì bạn hẳn thất vọng ngay lập tức. Draco Malfoy và Harry Potter có thể nói là luôn trạng thái thù địch nhau từ đầu đến cuối. Ở đoạn cuối, Albus nói với Scorpius cậu đang đợi ba bởi ba hứa sẽ chỉ cho cậu xem thứ gì đó. Nơi mà Harry dẫn Albus tới là một nghĩa trang có phần mộ của Cedric trên một ngọn đồi đẹp. Căn cứ về luật lệ và giờ giấc tại Hogwarts thì có lẽ Harry và Albus không đi đâu đó quá xa. Vậy thì rất có khả năng nghĩa trang kia nằm ngay gần Hogwarts. Trước kia chưa bao giờ họ từng nói về sự tồn tại của nơi này. Có khi nào nó chỉ được dựng nên sau cuộc chiến ác liệt tại Hogwarts, để chôn cất những người đã hy sinh? Nếu quả đúng vậy thì quanh đó sẽ quây quần mộ phần của giáo sư Snape, vợ chồng Lupin - Tonks. Fred George Weasley...Danh sách đầy đủ của 50 người đã ngã xuống cũng chưa từng được Jo tiết lộ.

Đây đã là cái kết cuối cùng của Harry Potter?

Rowling tuyên bố Harry Potter đã hoàn thành nhiệm vụ của mình, thôi thì một đời gian truân của anh như vậy coi như đã đủ. Tuy nhiên, biết đâu ngụ ý của nữ tác giả khi tuyên bố câu này lại hoàn toàn khác cái mà độc giả đang suy nghĩ. Nên nhớ câu chuyện 19 năm sau đã dịch chuyển dần vai trò của nó sang lớp phù thủy trẻ. Cho nên, có thể đã hết chuyện về Harry Potter nhưng câu chuyện về một thế hệ mới như Albus, Rose, Scorpius hay Lily chỉ vừa mới bắt đầu.

Whenever I’m feeling under the weather, I have a home remedy that may not be doctor approved but seems to work like a charm for me. I steep three ginger tea bags in hot water (so far, doctor approved) and add a shot of Jameson whiskey (not approved). It’s delicious and literally intoxicating.

Another, more family-friendly use for those ginger tea bags is as a broth substitute. If you love the distinctive flavor of ginger, you’ll love this soup. This version is vegetarian, but it would be delicious with shredded leftover chicken and any hearty greens (like kale and chard) you might have on hand.

8 ounces firm tofu

¼ cup tamari

½ cup brown rice, rinsed

1 cup cold water

5 cups boiling water

5 ginger tea bags (I like Yogi Tea brand)

4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

2 small heads (about 12 ounces) bok choy, trimmed and sliced into ½-inch pieces

2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil

1 bunch scallions, white part only, julienned

1. Place the tofu on a plate and weight down with two more plates; set aside for 30 minutes to press out the liquid. Then drain off the liquid and cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 425°F.

2. In a small baking dish, toss the tofu with the tamari. Bake until the tofu puffs up and turns golden brown, about 20 minutes, stirring once midway through the baking.

3. In a small pot, combine the rice with the cold water. Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook until all the water is absorbed, about 20 minutes. Set aside, covered.

4. In a large pot, combine the boiling water with the ginger tea bags and garlic. Steep for 20 minutes. Discard the tea bags and garlic.

5. Add the tofu and any residual tamari to the pot. Stir in the rice, then add the bok choy and sesame oil. Stir until the bok choy is wilted.

6. Serve the soup garnished with the scallions.

Good to Know Did you know that uncooked white rice has a shelf life of approximately thirty years, but brown rice can be stored in your pantry for only about six months before going bad? The bran in the brown rice (which is stripped away when rice is refined) contains a natural oil that can go rancid. So, buy brown rice in small batches or store it in the refrigerator to extend its shelf life to up to one year.

When we were shooting a “mocktails” story in Mexico for the magazine, one of the key ingredients we used to produce a rich, flavorful base for our drinks was fresh hibiscus flowers. These giant, gorgeous red flowers were almost the size of my head. When boiled in water, they produce a dark, floral, fruity tea that makes a really enjoyable sugar-free beverage. In addition to its stunning flavor and color, hibiscus is healthy food, loaded with antioxidants that have been proved to lower blood pressure. Here, I thought the delicious fruity notes of hibiscus could be interesting as a “broth” for gazpacho. And since it can be difficult to source fresh hibiscus flowers, dried will do just fine. You won’t be disappointed by this unusual take on the traditional chilled soup. Serve with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt if you like.

4 red hibiscus tea bags

4 cups boiling water

2 (15-ounce) cans whole tomatoes, drained and roughly chopped

1 yellow summer squash, finely diced

1 medium English cucumber, seeded and finely diced

1 red bell pepper, cored, seeded, and finely diced

1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 bunch scallions, white and middle green parts only, sliced

¼ cup olive oil

Juice of 2 limes

1½ tablespoons balsamic vinegar

1½ tablespoons soy sauce

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

1. Steep the tea bags in the boiling water for 15 minutes. Discard the bags and chill the tea in the refrigerator until cold.

2. In a blender, puree the tomatoes until smooth. Pass through a strainer.

3. In a large bowl or pitcher, combine the remaining ingredients except the yogurt. Stir in the tomato puree and hibiscus tea. Refrigerate until completely chilled, about 2 hours. Taste and season with additional salt and pepper, if

needed. Serve cold.

Tip If you have a backyard compost bin, you may think nothing of tossing your old herbal tea bags into it. But you should know that the bag itself is usually not biodegradable, nor are the metal staples and strings. To compost old tea bags, rip open the bags and dump the contents into the compost. Everything else should go into the trash.

Những người có chút ít học thức được kính trọng hơn, sách vở được truyền từ tay người nọ tới người kia đến khi các trang sách đã ngả màu, người ta bắt sóng radio theo dõi từng câu chuyện chăm chú, không ít người thuộc lòng nhiều bài thơ hay cả đoạn văn dài mình tâm đắc. Sách vở dù cũ hay mới đều được gìn giữ, nâng niu.
 
Có lẽ tôi vẫn là con người của thời đại cũ đã qua rồi nên còn hoài cổ lắm. Chính vì vậy mà lúc nào cũng mong muốn sẽ làm chủ một tiệm sách thật to, kể cả bên trong có toàn sách cũ. Để rồi trong khi nhà nhà, người người mở tiệm bán đồ ăn, đồ mặc, đồ công nghệ cao, đồ xách tay...có sẵn hay order thì tôi lại bắt đầu kinh doanh sách. Để rồi dẫu biết là giờ sách mới in trên giấy đẹp, bìa hoa cũng còn ế sưng chứ đừng nói gì sách cũ thì tôi vẫn cố lượm lặt, chất sách cũ đầy phòng để mở tiệm online. Khi muốn làm gì đó, người ta thường có một niềm tin khó hiểu.
 
Trước đây khi tầm hiểu biết và vốn tiếng Anh còn hạn chế, tôi ít có cơ hội tìm đọc sách ngoại văn. Khi đã khá hơn, tôi nhận ra nguồn sách ngoại văn ở xung quanh mình vẫn còn hạn hẹp. Có điên không nếu bạn không chỉ thích đọc mà thích bán sách cho mọi người, để tìm cho ai đó cuốn sách họ cần, để giới thiệu với mọi người cuốn sách mà mình thích, để lặn ngụp và bơi trong bể sách rồi chìa ra cho khách hàng cuốn sách họ yêu cầu với cái giá rẻ nhất bạn có thể?

Trong vài ngày gần đây, cư dân mạng xôn xao trước bức hình tuyệt đẹp được cho là bìa chính thức của Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: The Illustrated Edition. Mặc dù hiện tại trên Amazon hình ảnh sách vẫn chưa được hiển thị nhưng có đủ căn cứ để thấy rằng những thông tin này là chính xác.

Tập 2 của loạt truyện phù thủy Harry Potter được dịch ra ở Việt Nam với tựa đề "Harry Potter và phòng chứa bí mật" xoay quanh năm học thứ hai của Harry tại trường đào tạo pháp sư và phù thủy Hogwarts. Hình ảnh Harry và Ron trên chiếc xe Blue Anglia được phù phép đã xuất hiện trên bìa tập 2 của truyện Harry Potter trong các phiên bản trước. Tuy nhiên, lần này sẽ có một số thay đổi so với bìa gốc. Đó là thay vì Ron và Harry lái chiếc xe bay đến trường cho kịp năm học mới thì trong tranh ta thấy có thêm hai nhân vật chắc chắn là anh em song sinh Fred và George Weasley và chiếc xe có vẻ đang hướng về ngôi nhà của gia đình Weasley là trang trại Hang Sóc hơn là trường Hogwarts.

Hơn nữa so sánh bố cục trình bày, nét vẽ và màu sắc thì hoàn toàn tương đồng với Harry Potter 1 đã được minh họa bởi những bức tranh cầu kỳ của họa sĩ Jim Kay. Hiện tại nhiều trang giới thiệu và bán sách (điển hình như Barnes and Noble) cũng đã đăng hình ảnh này lên để quảng bá cho Harry Potter 2.

Thêm một số hình ảnh "rò rỉ" 

Chưa dừng lại ở đó, một số tấm hình lung linh khác cũng được cho là nằm trong tập truyện này. Chẳng hạn như tranh chú Phượng Hoàng Fawkes - một nhân vật then chốt trong cuộc chiến chống lại Tử Xà dưới phòng chứa bí mật cũng được góp mặt trong một minh họa rất kỳ công.

Dù không ít ý kiến trái chiều về minh họa trong Harry Potter bản minh họa tập 1 trước đó, nhưng phần đông fan của cậu bé phù thủy vẫn hả hê vì HP đã thực sự trở lại và "lợi hại hơn xưa" trong một phiên bản full màu đẹp mãn nhãn. Dựa trên ảnh bìa Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: The illustrated edition được công bố, các độc giả có thể hy vọng về một tập 2 "đẹp như mơ" đến mức không-thể-không-có-trong bộ sưu tập.

Cùng với bộ phim " Dã thú hoang đường và nơi tìm ra chúng" và vở kịch "Harry Potter và đứa trẻ ám nguyền" sẽ ra mắt năm nay, chưa kể sách script sẽ được phát hành cùng lúc với thời điểm công diễn. Một lần nữa, HP vẫn chứng minh là mỏ vàng chưa bao giờ cạn với chính tác giả Rowling và các nhà xuất bản.
